Alliances let two partnered businesses pool their referral rewards into a shared menu. When a customer hits a milestone, they can choose between your reward and your partner’s — giving them more options while exposing your brand to the partner’s customer base.
How it works
- Start from a partnership — You must have an accepted partnership before creating an alliance.
- Create a draft — Select which of your campaigns to share and give the alliance a name.
- Send the proposal — Your partner receives a notification and reviews your selected campaigns.
- Partner accepts — They add their own campaigns to the alliance and accept. The alliance goes live immediately.
- Rewards merge — At each referral milestone, customers on either profile now see reward options from both businesses.
Alliance lifecycle
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Alliance created but not sent to partner yet |
| Pending | Proposal sent, awaiting partner’s response |
| Active | Live — rewards visible on both profiles |
| Paused | Temporarily suspended by either partner |
| Terminated | Permanently ended |
Either partner can pause an active alliance at any time (and resume later), or terminate it permanently. There is no lock-in.
What customers see
When an alliance is active, the customer’s reward milestones display options from both businesses. Each partner’s rewards are clearly labeled with a “Via [Partner Name]” badge so customers know who’s offering what.
For example, a coffee shop and bakery alliance might show:
Refer 3 friends — choose your reward:
- Free bag of house blend
- Free croissant (Via Golden Bakery)
The customer picks whichever reward they prefer. Each business fulfills only their own rewards.
Key details
- Campaign selection — You choose exactly which campaigns to share. Keep sensitive or internal campaigns private.
- One alliance per partnership — Each partnership supports one active alliance at a time (including draft and pending states).
- Privacy guaranteed — No customer data is shared between businesses. The alliance is purely about reward visibility.
- Each business fulfills their own rewards — You’re never responsible for your partner’s rewards, and vice versa.
